WTHS has had students traveling the world for the past three years through this program. Possible college credit is offered as well. Students can embark on learning that immerses them in language and culture, service & leadership projects, or Global Discovery. WTHS was awarded $25,000 in scholarships for Summer Travel Abroad through CIEE.Levels 3H, 4H and AP students may also receive college credit through the Camden County College dual credit program.World language students may also be eligible to take competitive national language exams and may qualify for induction into National Chapters of their world language honor society.Extra-curricular activities including the French Club, German Club, Asian Club and Spanish Club are available for students who wish to extend their world language/cultural experience beyond the classroom.AP Spanish, AP German, AP French are offered.Classroom lessons integrate the beauty of the target language culture continuously using authentic resources.Students may opt to begin a new world language or build upon the student's three-year middle school world language experience, by pursuing further study of the same language begun in middle school.The classes are delivered at least 90% in the target language. This sequence is designed to provide students with a continuum of learning activities in the Interpretive, Interpersonal and Presentational modes, which develop the student's fluency in speaking, listening, reading comprehension and the ability to write in the target language. Four levels of French, Spanish, and German instruction are offered.
